dvd recovery

Is there a freeware program to recover files from dvds that has a bad sector
or so and most programs are good.
I found 2 that cost 40 and 50 dollars but they only tell you file 1 file
2 etc. I would like to know if the prog.
that I get is what I want. I do't want to pay thay much for a guess.
