I tried formatting it under the admin account and I get this:
http://img360.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dvdramnoformatjh7.jpg
Always at the same point.
When I try to drag and drop to it, it tells me to put in writable
media. Everythig works fine with a norma CD-R or RW, but DVD RAM will
not work. I tried right clicking and making sure 'enable cd recording
is checkecked' and it still doesn't work.
What the heck am I doing wrong?
This is the KB article I referenced.

are you positive you have a dvd writer drive.
how about the blanks, are a brand type that is useable in your drive.
not all brands work in all drives.

I figured it out.

You see DVD-RAM is different and they kick ass!
Basically DVD raps are just like floppies, you can literally save
directly through them without any bullshit buring app.
Having said that, one has to UN-check the "allow recording to this
drive" optin when you right click and hit properties. I think its
stupid, WIndows XP should have a better implementation for DVD support.

So far, they have left that to people like Roxio and Nero.

and that's just plain dumb on Microsoft's part.
DVD-RAm is exactly that - random access. No bullshit writing apps,
just dump junk to the disc and be on your way.
