DVD-RAM drive cannot read DVD-R - Windows

J

John Arnold

OK....so I've made a couple data DVD's - on DVD-R with a Dell XPS running
Windows XP Pro SP2.

Inserted into a Asus W2V notebook running Windows XP SP 2 with a Matshita
UJ-858S DVD-RAM drive.

Will not read.

Tested the data DVD-R on three other computers (Thinkpad G40, Dell 4600, and
Acer)...all read well.

On the Asus, nothing comes up. Loaded Nero 6.0 thinking maybe new software
would help...but nothing.

The Asus plays movie DVDs OK.

The DVD is set for Region 1 (I'm in the U.S.).

When I right-click the DVD drive in Explore, I get "Windows does not
recognize the format".

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks.
John
