DVD-RAM Code 32 problem

Most of DVD driver problems on the forum seem to be regarding code 39. What
about Code 32? I'm getting "A driver (service) for this device has been
disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code
32)" I'm running Vista.

I've tried uninstalling and re-booting, but no good. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I've seen this report around but it is written for Code 31 problems. It does
apply to Code 32, also? Thanks.

From that web page:

Symptoms of the problem:

"Error message 2
A driver for this device was not required, and has been disabled
(Code 32 or Code 31)."

Thanks a lot, it worked. I couldn't find LowerFileter, but deleting the
UpperFilter ones worked.

But, what are the ramifications of deleting that?

Thanks again!

You're welcome.

Having only one of the filters is rather common.

The only ramifications that I know are as noted on that web page:

Step 4: Restart the computer
If a CD recording program no longer works after you restart the
computer, you must reinstall the CD recording program.
