Windows XP or Vista?
Possible reasons:
1) Maybe you created a Data DVD
and not a Video DVD. How...exactly
did you burn the dvd?
2) Maybe your DVD player is not
compatible with DVD-R blanks.
3) Some free standing DVD players
will not play home made DVDs.
