DVD-R is not Recognized

I have XP Pro and I burned a few DVD's. Now when I pop a DVD-R in, my computer doesn't recognize it. It will read movie DVDs, and will recognize a CD-RW. I've tried 3 DVD-R, so it doesn't seem to be the media. Is there a driver I need to re-install? Dave

Thanks for your advice. While the properties window lists it as a "DVD-RW drive on the title bar, the recording tab only lists Desktop CD recording, not DVD recording, and that box is checked. Any other suggestions? Dave
