DVD player won't recognize CD burned from Movie Maker

I am a newbee, my first experience with WMM. I have saved my movie consisting
of still pictures and naration to DV- AVI format. Copied to a CD. Both of my
DVD players ( both new, one a DVD player/recorder ) will not recognize my CD
and spit it out. What did I do wrong?

To play a movie on a DVD player...you
need software that can create a VCD...
(this assumes you do not have a DVD
burner...then you might create a DVD)

First you would save your Movie Maker
project to a folder on your hard drive as
a movie...as you have done.

Next...you need to import the completed
..wmv or .avi movie file into a software
program that will create a VCD. Most
DVD players will play a VCD...check
the manual for your DVD player for
compatibility. A VCD is a Video Disk
created on a CD instead of a DVD.

I've had success with a program called
'InterVideo WinDVD Creator'...there are
many others...'NeroVision Express'...is
another example. The main thing is the
program must be able to create a VCD
from a .wmv or .avi video file.

Appreciate your reply and even tho it S/B obvious to non-newbies (one must
use a DVD disc vs CD for making DVD's), and even tho I'm not really a novice
per say, it took some re-reading of your kind reply before I realized the
post's issue. If your reply presumed the user wished to make a "DVD",
assuming WMM is so compatable, would your reply have added anything?

In the future it would be best if you begin a new
thread when you have a question.

The only version of Movie Maker that has an
option to burn a DVD is the WinXP Media
Center Edition.

Maybe the following articles will offer some
ideas about DVDs:
