DVD player not working on Toshiba laptop

H

hello

After a full disk format , and a clean install of Win2000, I cannot play DVD
movies anymore on my Toshiba Satellite 4090XDVD laptop.
DVD was working well with Win98, and I believe a Toshiba driver was already
installed on the laptop.
I downloaded and installed all drivers I found appropriate from toshiba.com.
I also did procedures outlined in Microsoft knowledge base KB 2494334.
Still no DVD.
I'm desperate. Please help me figure this out
Thanks

Daniel

What do you see in device manager? Did you get the correct W2k DVD driver
from toshiba and install it in there? What DVD software are you running?

hello

I should have mentioned these details. Here they are:

In device manager, I see Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-C2202. Status: enabled. Region
: region 1 (Canada) Driver: 5.0.2183.1. Driver date: 99/11/14. Digital
Signer: Microsoft Windows 2000 publisher.

I did download and installed all the drivers from Toshiba that deemed
appropriate to play the DVD, including the following: Toshiba DVD Decoder
properties settings 1.00,

I'm using a Toshiba media player called "DVD Video player" .

Thanks for reading my complaints Lanwench...
