DVD drives..Please release me!!!

Hi All,

I have two CD\DVD drives, the following problem happens on both. I eject a
CD or DVD, insert another disc, click on the drive in Explorer, the previous
disk details are still visible (folders and files)…an image!!!
Refreshing the drive doesn’t work, only shows the newly inserted disk until
after a reboot.
Any ideas please?

PS. I checked earlier posts about this problem, none helped. The registry
setting for Autorun value is Set to 1. Drives have latest Firmware updates.

Do you have any Creative/Soundblaster CD/DVD management software
running? If so, try disabling it or d/loading an update.

It is a bug in XP. I run into it every freaking day. Open MY
Computer. Open the drive which has the stupid incorrect disk
listed and the contents will be available. However for some
stupid reason the LABEL stays the same. Check out MS Knowledge
base. Maybe they have some answers...but don't bet on it.
Probably be rectified in the new OS.

I don't have this problem with either of my optical drives using XP Pro
SP2. As soon as the drive reads the disk, the label changes and the
contents change when I open the drive in My Computer. When I open the
drive tray to remove the disk, the label in My Computer immediately changes
back to the drive name. Am I not understanding something?
