Not Known

Hi,

Can someone please help me fix a neighbours PC. He has a DVD writer and a
DVD Drive. You can see these drives in explorer, but you can't see any data
when you double click on them, although they can play audio. I put SP2 on
(it's XP Home by the way) and this seemed to cure the problem. However, a
couple of days later, the problem returned. In safe mode the drives seem to
work fine, although as it's one of those temperamental problems that comes
and goes I can't guarantee this.

He doesn't have and XP install disc, but a restore has been performed
several times using the image that is stored on it's own partition on the
HDD. This doesn't seem to help.

I'm not sure whether to try and do a bios upgrade. Would this help?

Any clues.

Thanks
