Howdy..

NEC3540A 's appear a bit notorius..

Get the latest Firmware for it.
It's also adviseable to remove software like CloneDVD, Alcohol 120%, Packet-Writing software and virtual CD/DVD drive S/ware.

If a back-to-basics approach doesn't fix this - bin it and get yourself a Pioneer DVR-111 for under £25

You cannot go wrong with Pioneer hardware because media maunfacturers use Pioneer to test with! ;)

yup the things toast, it already had latest firmware and got rid of power iso thats the only virual drive program i had. looks like i gotta buy a new one huh?
well thx for help anyways
i appreciate it :D

update:
i found out that if i just leave the disk in there for like 20 minutes then itll finally come up in my computer.. its really weird sometimes it reads them fine and most of the time i gotta wait like 20 minutes or just reboot with disk in there... still think its dvd?
