DVD drive recognized by XP as CD-R

My Coworker upgraded his home PC to XP Pro. He did a fresh
install.

His Pioneer DVD drive is recognized as a CD-R drive.

Deleting it from Device Manager and readding does nto
help. Any ideas on how to use the DVD drive as a DVD? :)

mine does too, but you know what? it reads DVDs just fine.

I would not worry about this unless he can't read a DVD!
 
He's more worried about it not being able to BURN DVD's
rather then viewing them....forgot to show it as a DVR
drive.
