DVD drive doesn't read CDs

Hello,

My CD-R/DVD-RW drive will not read audio CDs or blank CD-Rs, but still
reads DVDs (including burned DVDs). The problem did not start until I
accidentally pressed the eject button while my computer was in the
middle of burning an audio CD. Now when I put in a CD or CD-R, the
drive repeatedly makes a clicking noise until it eventually gives up
and my computer says there's no disc in the drive. The device manager
says the drive is working properly, and I tried uninstalling and
re-installing it. Any ideas? Thanks!

The CD side and DVD side use different lasers. Time to replace the drive.

I believe you injured the drive with your boo-boo. Time for a new one, if
you have to read CD's.
