dvd decoder PROBLEM

why do we have to pay for dvd decoders when we brought a laptop or desktop
computer ? shouldn't that cover it ? why or why not ? can some give me a link
to any dvd decoder oh and a program to burn dvd's on my computer and thanks
for your help.

If you "just" bought this computer and it came with a DVD burner it also
should have come with a DVD burning program...NERO...Sonic....etc.
If you just bought a DVD burner and installed it then yes you need to
purchase a burning program if it did not come with one.

XP,s MediaPlayer 11 does play DVD....with the right codecs.
