DVD combo drive no record tab

I have added a LG combo drive GSA 4040B to e: and a LG CD\DVD R drive to f:

I do not have a recording tab!
I have unloaded and loaded the drives with and without rebooting and
phisically removing and reinstalling one at a time.

I am out of ideas!

How do I get a recording tab?

PS

Have installed drive on another computer XP pro and it worked!!
Drivers looked the same as mine
Drivers in use: both optical drives have the same drivers
c:\wiondows\system 32\Drivers\cdrom.sys
" \imapi.sys
\redbook.sys
c:\windows\system 32\storp.dll |

Without the recording tab it makes it hard to use any microsoft options.

I have looked into the reg edit and it looks ok to me.

Am I missing anything here?

Do you have CD mastering software installed?

Many of those programs disable the built in, therefore the "enable recording" would not be an option.

No other soft ware.
I have looked in teh re edit and the drive is numbered correctly

Do you have CD mastering software installed?

You are telling me that this DVD burner http://www.lgeus.com/Product/CD/GSA_4040b.asp didn't come with mastering software?

XP does not have built in support for DVD burning or playing, you need software from a third party to do those things. www.sonic.com is what came with my burner (NU not LG).

Authoring Tools Supplied B's Recorder GOLD, B's Clip, B's DVD, DVD-RAM Driver, PowerDVD, Acrobat Reader

So you should have software.

can record a cd but not DVD - need additional patch.

The microsoft movie maker does not reconize the drive due to no recording
tab in the properties

Any more help is apreciated
