The problem aint damage, its just a film of the smoke residue on
the lens and its perfectly possible to get that off with isopropanol.

It doesnt matter unless its in the optical path unless the levels are very bad.

But dont understand the basics.

Not very often.

"Frank Williams" has "ru" (for Russia), in his message headers. That would make
sense, as TV sets in the former Soviet Union were long noted for their shocking
tendency to catch fire.

In those cases (pun intended), the "boob tubes" could kill their owners!

Oh, he passed away three years ago and not from smoking either so
it never "got" him. Pneumonia did though.

Sorry, to hear that.

However, pneumonia is often merely the "coup de grâce" and the
underlying cause is actually another disease (or tobacco, as the
case may be).

An "antidote" is a cure for poison, whereas "antidotal" is
a nonexistent word. I'm sure you meant "anecdotal" - the
adjective form of "anecdote" (which means, "brief story").

Has anyone ever mentioned to you that if your vacuum cleaner ever
breaks, you should be able to skoot around the floor on your arse ?
Just a clarification, not an attack.
Although, a good DVD "burner" might happen to be an "antidote"
for a bad one. Personally, I'm moving away from LG Electronics
and heading to Lite-On, in upgrading my current home-built
computer (an aging Pentium III 1050MHz).

Nothing like living life in the fast lane.
That isn't a knock against LG, it's simply a matter of circumstances.
I made a pretty good deal on a Lite-On "GSA-4120B" Blu-ray writer,
(intended for my future assembling of an Intel "Quad Core" PC), a
couple of years ago.
Since then, I've been leaning toward Lite-On, which seems to
garner as many favorable customer reviews as most any brand.

I dont bother with either anymore, use TB+ hard drives instead, in a HD docking station.

That was the vodka they kept spilling over them.

Happened with one of ours too.

And a few little kids have been killed by modern TVs being pulled own on them too.

Huh?

Nothing like living life in the fast lane.

Please, don't scoff! My PIII puppy will be a monster machine, when
I'm finished revamping it.

I bought a generic eSATA PCI card, too.

Thats was one of those jokes, Joyce.

I was well aware of that, Thad...its meaning escaped me, however.
It will be a frankenstein monster.

No, Godzilla!
External hard drives that the only way to go for backups now.

Quite true, and I crave eSATA's superior speed; USB 2.0 is merely
too damned slow.

So, you can get those stuff since they're faster than USB2.

Alas, USB 3.0 won't begin to be earnestly implemented, until 2011;
I don't want to wait that long, personally.

Conversely, eSATA is a relatively mature technology.
