DVD-CD Drive will not recognise burnt DVD

I recently burnt data onto a dvd disk, on a laptop version of my computer and
once back on my pc, i cannot open the data because the disk is not regonised
as being in the PC.

If the PC is getting on in years, take the disk back to the notebook and
make sure it is finalized. Then the PC should see it. BTW the PC does have
a DVD-ROM or burner doesn't it? It won't be recognized in a CD drive.
