DVD/CD Drive opens at random intervals by itself

Hello
Recently my DVD/CD drive has been opening at random intervals by
itself with no dvd or cd in it.
The drive is good. It still plays dvds and cds so I don't think it's
a hardware problem.
It gets kind of annoying because you never know when it is going to
happen.

Anyone had this problem before and can help me out?

Is your virus checker up to date? Sounds like it could be a virus, or else
somebody has installed some sort of remote control program on your PC and is
remotely controlling it. Such programs do exist.

I did a full virus scan last night with updated virus defs from
Norton. Nothing was found. The only thing I'm getting now from Event
viewer System is:
"Disk"
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\D.

Any ideas on that or think its related?
