Just installed my cd burner (hardware).... requirements needed before I can
installl the software is the hardrive should have a minumum of 650mb free
space, 9 GB free HDD space or higher. Unfortunately according to my computer
I have 4.39 GB of free space (yess I have alot of files)... I'm hoping I
don't have to delete/uninstall too many files before I get the space I
need... any other suggestions? How many KB's in a MB and how many MB'S does
it take to get a GB... just curious, maybe this will help me to decide what
files to get rid of to make the space I need. Help... Thanks.

The answer depends on how you count them. Using powers of 2, there are 1024
KB in an MB and 1024 MB in a GB.

How many KB's in a MB

1024.

and how many MB'S does it take to get a GB...

1024.

Also 1024 bytes in one KB and 1024GBs in one TB, etc.

However note that hard drive manufacturers all use the number 1000 in place
of 1024. Some people point out that the official international standard
defines the "G" of GB as one billion, not 1,073,741,824 (1024 x1024 1024).
Correct though they are, using the binary value of GB is so well established
in the computer world that I consider using the decimal value of a billion
to be deceptive marketing, to make the drive seem bigger than it actually
is.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and geuss that it is not a CD burner but
rather a dual layer DVD burner which holds just under 9 GB, no way would a
CD burner need 9 gigs to store the files in cache to be able to use it, is
this correct?.
If so go ahead and install the software, once installed burn some of the
less important files to a CD/DVD for storeage to free up some space, also if
you only use a single layer DVD disc you won't need the entire 9 gigs to
burn to a DVD sl.

Option #2
Buy an external usb hard drive and change the software's default files to
use the enternal drive for its cache instead of your main HD.
Hope this helps.
