DVD burning

Is it possible to burn files from a hard disk, to make a
backup for exsample, without any additional program such
as Ahead Burning Rom. I know it is possible to burn CD's
directly from Windows Explorer, but what about DVD's?
Anybody know a free burning program which is useful for
hardisk backup?

You have a DVD burner right ?? Did it not come with some
kind of software ?? Most all do. They come with a packet
writing program like Roxio Direct CD & Drag and Drop
(comes with Easy CD Creator ) Or Nero InCD or Sonic DLA
