Send to facility on XP.

Dear All,

Does anybody know how to utilise Send To in XP, to enable me to burn DVD's

I need to be able to select a hand full of files in Explorer, and then right
click "Send to" to burn out.... as far as I'm aware the burning facility in
XP only allows burning to CD's.. don't need nothing converting, it is purley
for backup purposes.

I have some software on my pc, like Nero and the like, but all the software
needs to be running, and drag and drop my files, etc...

Or has anybody stumbled across any freeware software that has this facility?

Thanks in advance..
Paul.

You evidently want to do this in one step. I don't know of a *free* app
that makes it possible in a GUI environment. When you consider the
diversity of file types that might be involved in a back up operation
along with all the different methods of burning the files to a DVD or CD
- that may be too much to ask of any GUI app. You are asking it to
literally accept any file type(s) you might throw at it and to read your
mind as to how and where to burn them.

Overall a command line utility would probably be your best bet as all
the needed mouse clicks in a GUI app could be represented by parameters
on one command line. You could then create a batch file to invoke the
CLI application and include all the command line parameters needed to
tell it how, what and where to burn. In fact if the batch file were
cleverly crafted a desktop icon pointing at the batch file might then
get you as near as possible to a 'one shot' operation.

A "CLI DVD burning utility" in a Google request gave some hits and
this was one of them:

A news group dedicated to XP problems is probably not the best place to
ask this question.
