Can anyone recommend DVD burning software that's Windows XP compatible, and that has
options for creating DVD menus (like on retail video DVDs), and allows the for DVDs to
autoplay on a non PC DVD players as well as a PC DVD players? I don't mean just basic DVD
burning software, I essentially need the features mentioned above.

Pinnacle Studio and Sonic MyDVD are two that I've used--they both work
well; in general Pinnacle has more options and flexibility and is
accordingly a little more expensive.

Nero 6 or Roxio 7. Both have video editing and DVD video authoring
capabilities, along with being able to burn DVDs. Now if you are try to
back up commercial DVDs, then you'll need a program like DVD Shrink too.

Beware-last time I tried, Nero downmixes stereo AC3 audio
to two channel mono-not very good when running Dolby Surround.
Nero Tech Support could not help.

I changed to TMpegEnc DVD Author, encode the AC3 myself
seperately, all is OK now.
