Hi Experts,
My system :
1.8 GhzP4, WIn XP, Firewire(Intek21),HitachiDV Handy cam,
XP Movie Maker 2

I was avble to do DV capture and save WMV files so far on
my system(Movie Maker), but 2 days back I got my machine
updated from Microsoft site-Critical updates- to prevent
from viruses like Blaster worm etc...
It was around 33 patches and upgrades. Also I downloaded
Movie Maker 2 from the web and now I have this strange
problem :
1. I donot get the Video Capture Method tab in the Video
Cature Wizard.
2. I donot see the Handy cam control buttons on the
Capture Wizard. So I am unable control the Handy cam from
Movie Maker 2 screen and I am unable to capture anything
from the handy cam...
But, my hard ware and Handy cam are all recognised.
P.S: Even after upgrading, my Movie PLayer is not shown as
Movie PLayer 2 in the shortcut on Desktop.

Pl. help me out...I have spent enough on this already

I had the same problem for about three weeks and no
matter what I did It didn't help.
With advice on some boards I progressed and got to the
stage that you are now.
Read this message of mine on the motley fool board site,
http://boards.fool.co.uk/Message.asp?mid=8096828

also go and have a look at my profile and look at my last
40 posts or so.

I posted on about 4 different sites and it did seem that
when I put in the extra small drive, then windows 98 with
an instant update to XP this allowed me to go straight
from MM1 to MM2 and also seemed to fix my problems on my
main drive.
I have no idea how, but I was at my witts end so!!
Do you have an old spare drive to use as a slave and
install as I did??
What can you lose?
Let me know how you get on

Good luck
Pat
