DV camera not recognised

New camera Canon MV6i when connected via usb for still
image transfer works fine but when connected via firewire
is not recognised. Never used firewire connection before
any ideas out there??
 
I am having the same problem with a Canon ZR70mc! Does
anyone out there have a solution for us? Please email if
you can solve...thanks.
