DV camcorder not discovered

I have a 1394 pcmcia card which is discovered by Windows
xp Professional. When I attach my Sony Mini DV DCR-TRV33
camera nothing happens. It is not discovered in the
device manager. I forced a refresh and it is still not
discovered. The camera is aware of the connection so I
have eliminated the cable and the card. Does anyone have
any advice on how to get the camera discovered by windows
xp?

I had the same kind of problem with a Vivitar cam. I ended
up using the camera wizard to install the camera driver. XP
finally did recognize it after I did this.

Also had the same problem with a Sony
Have to enable USB Streaming from camera menu.

Actually, returned the IEEE card and purchased another
one that uses a NEC driver instead of Texas
Instruements. Works perfect now. Thanks for the info.
