Duration for Change Fill Color animation

I don't know if there is a bug in a file or what. I received a presentation
from someone - PPT 2003. There are 2 rectangles (in the custom animation pane
they are identified as "Rectangle #). Both rectangles show the animation
effect of Change Fill Color. The odd thing is that one rectangle has the
options of Fill color and Speed and the other has Fill Color and Duration. If
I apply the Change Fill Color animation to a new rectangle, I get the options
of Fill Color and Speed. Any ideas why 2 rectangles with the same animation
effect would have different options? We are puzzled.

Are you sure it's Change Fill Color and not Transparency effect? Transparency
will have immediate effect rather than fading to transparency at a designated
speed.

I have had this problem when setting the animation in VBA, check and see if
both of th rectangles have the same effect style, i.e. select the rectangle
in the custom animation pane, right click and select effect, then check
style. There are four different styles that if you are looking at the
properties two of them use speed and two use duration. Not sure why there is
a difference. Hope this helps.
