Dupes in pull down menu for TO email

I am running XP and Office 2007 on my desktop. I just got a new laptop
(Vista and Office 2007) and exported contacts from the desktop to the laptop.
Everything seems fine until I want to send an email. When I click on the
“To:†button to pull up my contacts, every contact with an email address is
shown twice. If a contact has a fax number that is also listed twice. So
there are four lines shown for contacts with an email address and a fax
number. But there is only one record in Contacts. Can anyone tell me what
is happening?

Thanks,

Ron

This indicates that you have two copies of your Contacts folder in your folder
list, probably by using export/import to transfer your data. Start over with
a new mail profile, transferring the data correctly. See this:

Dupes in pull down menu for TO email

Brian,

I have also noticed when I change an email address in contacts it does not
change the cooresponding email address in the "TO:" pull down menu.

I don't know what you mean by the "To pull-down menu". There are no menus for
the To field. Are you referring, perhaps, to the autocompletion list that
appears when you start typing in the two field? That list does not reference
your contacts in any way whatsoever. It is merely a memory of the addresses
to which you've sent mail in the past. If it contains an address that is out
of date, then the list appears, use your down arrow key to select it, then
press Delete.
