Duplicate folders

I had problems opening outlook 2000 this morning. Once it finally opened, I
had a duplicate set of the main folders in personal folders. All of my old
folders are still there, further down in the list. When I try to email from
my contacts, it doesn't recognize that they are there, because there aren't
any in the new folder of contacts. How do I get rid of the new folders, and
keep the old folders with all of my information.
