deleat duplicate files from a hard disc via OS XP pro to
realease space

There are utilities that detect dupes, but deleting same can be dangerous.
You might be better advised to buy a larger hard drive; they're cheap.
Also clear out TEMP files, via Control Panel|INTERNET OPTIONS.
