hi - after putting all my files from various computers onto one i have
several duplicate files in many folders - is there an easy way to search for
these and delete

thanks

If you know the extensions of the files:
Start > Search > For Files or Folders.
In the Search for box type: *.extension **Change extension to the actual ext.
Select the drive and click Search Now.

To delete select/duplicates hold down the CTRL key and click on each file you want
to select.
Once selected press DEL or click the red X in the toolbar to delete the files
selected.
Close out when done.

or you can try a third party app such as Easy Cleaner:

Be careful when using any third party application and if you do delete the
duplicates to the recycle bin in case it deletes some duplicate files which may be
needed.
