duplicate file removal

I have just installed a program that finds duplicate files, so you can free
up space, I found that every update of windows products leaves multiple
copies of three files named " update.exe eula.txt and spuninst.exe," the
size, date, name, and checksum crc32 are all the same can these files be
removed as I just cant belive that twenty copies of the same file are
really necc,

Do Not Delete. If you are hurting for diskspace, either get a larger
harddrive, an external harddrive or copy personal files such as music,
photos and documents to a CD. If you check the last time/date these
files were accessed or modified, you'll see that each duplicate was accessed
at about the same time. If you feel confident to delete them, copy them
to a CD or external drive first such as a thumb drive.

Duplicate File removal apps like reg cleaner apps should come with a very
big PC health warning.
ie "If you dont know exactly what you are doing do not remove, as doing so
could render your sys unusable"
