duplicate contacts

Hi,
I created a contact, BOB. After some time I deleted this
contact and created a new contact named BOB (different
address). Even though only 1 BOB shows in the contact
list, when I try to send a new email, the 'to' input box
drops down with a list of 2 BOBs, the old and new. Is
this part of the prefetch file for outlook and how can I
prevent the first BOB from showing in the drop down.

As you start to type BOB, and you see the two options, arrow down to the
wrong option and click the delete key on the keyboard.
 
That deletes it for good? I've had the same problem with deleted contacts
never going away. I never thought it could be this simple to solve. This is
the kind of thing that makes it worthwhile to look through this group from
time to time. Thanks.
