Duplex Printing.

Nev.

I notice that some printer manufacturers seem to be restricting
duplex printing to ever more and more expensive models.

Can any point me to any simple and inexpensive programs
that will allow me to print all the odd pages first, then the
even pages, as many people did in the days before duplex
printers?

TIA,

Nev.

If it's just a few pages, you may be able to select 1,3,5,7,9,etc in the
printer driver. Then obviously, 2,4,6,8,10,etc. This may not work for large
numbers of pages. Some drivers also allow odd or even as a selection.
This can get a bit confusing and squirrelly if you are dealing with a
sectioned or chaptered document.
When color printers that used to cost $300-400 are selling for less than
$100, something's gotta give. The first to go was application software.
(Photo editors, Panorama stitchers, etc.) Next was contuning support for
windows versions released after win2k for older models. Now they sell the
low end printers at an almost giveaway price and hope to make lotsa money on
the ink.

Recently, it was cheaper to buy a new low end printer that came with ink
tanks & combined heads than it was to buy the replacement combined ink tanks
and heads.
