dupicate network problem?

hi , everytime windows xp finishes loadin a message pops
up and says "error 'dupicate network problem'" how can i
change it ? do i reformate the pc and change the
workgroup name or make it the same name?

I'm sure that there's no need to reformat the pc.

What is the complete and exact text of the message? There's no
problem with using the same workgroup name on multiple computers, so I
suspect that it's saying that there's a duplicate computer name. If
so, you can change the computer name:

1. Right click My Computer.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click Computer Name.
4. Click Change.
