Dumb Qustion But I'm Confused

Ok so last week I finally built a new PC. I bought a Sapphire X1900XT
(256MB). I bought it from Newegg and it came in it's retail box. On the box
it clearly states that the card has VIVO. My last card was a 9800pro, and
I've never owned a card that has VIVO, not to be confused with Avivo. The
card has what looks like a S-video connecter, but it's not. I have to use a
adapter to plug in my S-video cable that goes to my TV. I've read the
manual that came with the install CD, and I just spent a lot of time at
ATI's site trying to figure out how, if this card really does have VIVO, to
make it work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA, JLC

Is there an "unknown device" in Device Manager? If so, install the WDM
drivers; it's available from the same web page as the display drivers and
CCC.

Then you'll need a video capture program that supports WDM devices. (I don't
think ATi actually includes an app for this.) A free program is Virtual VCR:
http://virtualvcr.sourceforge.net/

I hope you weren't expecting something more extravagant? :)

Actually I was having a problem when I first installed the card every time I
would boot up I'd get the Windows has found a new device message. It was
looking for a PCI device. I couldn't figure out what it was looking for
because the only other card I have is my soundcard and it was installed OK.
So I disabled the PCI device. But when I just upgrade to the newest drivers
a few days ago I installed the WDM driver just because I saw it there for
DL. Now that you told me about this I looked it up and now there's no yellow
icon in Device Manager.
I didn't even know the card had VIVO when I bought it. The only way I found
out was the box. Thanks for the info. JLC
