Dual XP OS installation

W

Wellie

I recently purchased a Chinese langugage ver of Win XP
Prof. I plan to install it on a PC which is currently
running an English language ver of XP Prof. The Chinese
lang ver will be installed on a separate partition of the
PC.

Without potentially causing me grief, can someone please
tell me if Win XP allows co-exist of other language ver
of XP ?

Thanks in advance.

Yes I have installed a greek version of XP on one partition and an english
on another, xp automatically detects that there are 2
installations and creates a boot manager that you choose which version of xp
you want to pwork with upon boot.
Of course you can only use one version at a time.

You might also check out Microsoft Virtual PC to run the second OS
inside the first OS so that you can have both running simultanously.
See http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/virtualpc/.

I used to have a triple-boot machine setup, but have eliminated all that
complexity now that I'm using Virtual PC. An impressive product.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Hi,

As long as they are installed to separate partitions, there should be no
issues with what you propose.
