Dual Processors in Device Manager

Realize this may be wierd, but since dual core processors are fairly new,
have a question. I have a dual core Intel P4 processor. Under Device
Manager, under Processor, there are 2 processors listed, both same
properties, i.e. Is this normal with the Dual Core? They both have drivers,
etc., and both have properties whereas you can update etc. Is this correct?
Wierd...I would not believe that having a Dual Core Processor would show up
as 2 Processors (Intel) in the Device Manager under Processors....thanks....

I have never used a Dual-Core or Hyperthreaded processor before, but I know
that they are designed to act as two processors, and this is probably
necessary for the system to correctly make use of this functionality.

That's a normal condition, Core 2 Duo, Core Duo (Notebooks) and the
Pentium-4 9xxx/8xxx series all have a single package (LGA) that has 2
separate, but interconnected processor cores. This is not the same as a
Intel CPU that has Hyperthreading technology.

Thanks to all...no, thought it was wierd, both having same Properties, etc..
Wonder what would happen if you deleted one??? (WinXP would just put it
back, right).
