dual monitors

I got a dual monitor set up, somehow, but now, for the first time, I have the
laptop away from the 2nd monitor, & I can't remember how to turn the 2nd one
off. So I have a program that defaults to the 2nd display & therefore can't
be reached now on the single monitor. Can anyone remind me how to do that?

Patience man, not everyone stands by to answer you in a second...or a day.

To answer your question, shutting on/off more monitors in XP (on a
stationary computer that is), is done via the settings tab of display
properties (can be reached from either control panel or a right-click
(properties) on the desktop).

Laptops I'm not sure, don't they also have the Fn-key together with F7 or
similar? Maybe that's just the TV-outlet.. I don't have a laptop. Just check
the symbols on the keys.

Hovewer programs that default to a position on a monitor that is off can
cause trouble, unless the display driver has a setting to force it inside
the visible screen(s). In that case you might have to temporary switch on
the 2nd monitor (if available..), and start your program, then move the
window of that program to the other screen, then close it. Hopefully it
remembers the position to the next time.

Hope it helps!
