Dual monitor problem??!!

My Dell laptop (2) is on my right and the 19" dell monitor (1) is on
my left.

START is on (1).


When I open an application (Outlook, IE6, Excel) it opens in (2)


How can I make the applications open in (1)?
 
drag the whole window to monitor one and then close the application and
restart the computer. It should save that location

Tried it several times, no luck.

Plan B?
