dual core w/ASUS A7M266-D

Can this board use an athlon dual core. The manual says any athlon xp
or mp. But since dual core came out, this wasn't an option. The board
can use 2 cpus.

Else what type of ASUS board is recommended. I have an extra asus
a7m266-d and hate to buy another and would like to use the board if
possible.

How many pins are on the dual cores?


Any suggestions are most appreciated

No it is a Socket A motherboard designed to run duel Athlon MP processors.
The duel core AMD Athlons are either Socket 939(939 pins) or AM2(940 pins)
