would anyone have good info on loading Linux Suse onto an
existing XP Pro OS? only have the single NTFS drive with 2
years data on it and it is not partioned. can I partitioned
a portion of the free space on the drive to install linux?

Thanks much,

There is lots of information on dual booting Windows and Linux. Just
Google for "dual boot Windows + Linux". That said, before you do
*anything* back up your data! My understanding is that SUSE 9.0 (which
has just come out) can supposedly resize your XP partition. No one has
posted to the SUSE list yet saying they've tried this, so I have no
idea how successful it would be. You could also create a partion with
Partition Magic, a non-destructive commercial partitioning program. I'd
personally just go out and buy another hard drive for Linux. Hard
drives are cheap enough. Whether you are adding SUSE or not, *back up*
your data *now*! Something bad *will* happen and you'll be stuck.
