Dual Boot

I dual boot Win98 and Win2000. Win98 on C and Win2000 on F.

I no longer use Win98 and have a nice stable Win2000 which I do not want to
play with. I would like to boot directly into Win2000.

I think that this is my boot.ini file:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000
Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows"

If I Rem out the C:\="Microsoft Windows" line, so that my boot.ini file
looks like this:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000
Professional" /fastdetect
Rem C:\="Microsoft Windows"

Will this accomplish what I want?

If I screw up and wreck the boot.ini file, can I boot into a Win98 startup
disk and replace the original boot.ini which I have saved as boot.old??

Thanx.

Right click on My Computer
click Properties
click startup and recovery
click default operating system dropdown box and choose the
OS you want to boot to.

O.K., I did that and it now boots the way I want it to.

Can I delete the Windows98 directory now???

You may also edit the boot.ini and remove this entry under [Operating
Systems]
C:\="Microsoft Windows
