I have a dual boot setup. WinME on C: and XP on D:

Since I rarely use ME anymore I am ready to dump it.

My company wants me to install one of thier XP CD's (with all thier paranoid
security crap) on my system so I can use thier licensed software to work within
thier secure system at home several days a week. It's a slow piece of sh*t Java
software prone to crash, slowdowns and lockups. I do NOT want it on my XP
installation as the family uses my computer too.

My question is, can I install thier licensed XP on my C: drive over ME and
retain my dual boot menu to be able to choose between thiers or mine?

If this is possible, it will sure cure a dilemna on my side.

The company should go one step better by offering you a desktop
system complete with its software instead of having you install
it in your home computer. Who knows what else is in the company's
software package? This should be more of a concern than whether
or not to dual boot.

Sound like they are setting you up for when someone skips with millions,
everyone knows Henry has been accessing the company computer from
home.......join the dots.

Tell the company to get stuffed, tell them ever so nicely but firmly, just
tell them that it is not possible to modify your home computer setup, they
should give you a company computer to keep if they want work done at home,
its up to any good company to supply the tools of trade, never use you family
computer for work.

Point out that its not advisable to force you to use your own family PC as a
familly member may crash the home computer or even their business mainframe.
If they insist that you use your family PC, then just crash their network and
erase all their backups, then say sorry but I warned you that could happen,
then front up at the unemployment office :) LOL

Protest but don't do anything else more dramatic.
