Has anyone ever down this successfully?? I have a PC with XP Home - OS is on
C Drive - Partitioned the Drive and Installed Pro on D Drive- which seemed to
work succesfully - when first I restarted had the option to boot into either
OS - booted into Pro - then did another restart - option to boot into Pro was
no longer available - PC automatically tried to boot in to Home but was
unable to do do as System 32 file was missing - recovered home edition from
back up but lost the Pro installation
Anyone any ideas???

It sounds like the partition marked "active" was still the
"C:" partition on the 2nd boot. That made the boot files
in the old C: partition the ones controlling the booting.
You can see which partition is "active" on each HD by
running Disk Management. If a HD has more than 1
partition, the active one will be indicated in the graphic
representation. To mark a partition "active", right-click
on the graphic rep and select "Mark Partition as Active".
If it's already "active", the selection will be grayed out.
