Dual boot with 2 HD's

Hi

I have XP family and two HD's

HD1 has partitions C:D: E:
HD2 has partitions F: J:

Partitions G:H are CD and DVD drives.

This summer, I want to reinstall Windows on the second HD which is used for
backups etc and then clone it using Ghost (Norton) to the first drive.

I've read up on Norton but I am worried about my boot drive which is on C:

When I clone from HD2 to HD1, the boot.ini will be lost as it is only on HD1
which is going to be overwritten.

Do I just copy it to HD2 before cloning?

Are there any other pitfalls just waiting for me?

Thanks in advance

Where to begin with the pitfalls. :)
If you install XP to C:, then it has to stay on C.
Disconnect the first drive, so that F: becomes C:.
Install XP to the first partition.
Reconnect the first drive as slave.
Clone XP to slave drive. Clone to first partition on slave drive.
Rejumper drives.
