Dual boot system restore

I have a ME/XPpro dual boot machine, and in checking the system restore
settings it dawned on me that I may not want the two OS's monitoring each
others drives, it seemed it could cause problems, besides being redundant.
So I changed the settings so that each OS monitors only its own partition.

I do share some applications across the two systems, Photoshop and Office
2000 for example, but it still seems it would be best to have them leaving
each others drives alone. There are also a couple of additonal hard drives
that are used exclusively for photos, file storage, or documents, which I
assume might as well be shut off, there are no programs actually running
from those drives.

The boot drive is the ME one, so it's used by XP to that extent, but
otherwise XP is all on the D drive.

Does the above make sense as the best way to do it, as far as system restore
settings? Thanks.

Hi

System Restore ought to monitor each Primary hard disk/partition - Logical drives needn't be monitored and saves space. As each of your OS partitions is using SR the setup seems to be OK.

Yes. And there is not that much point in having the communal program
drive monitored: if you do decide to, I would have it done by XP (the
two systems are independent, but you don't want them trying to unwind
each other's work).
