Dual boot from Win98se

I posted here awhile back about problems with my com/XP and to make a
long story short ended up formatting and installing Win98se. I would
like to try installing XP again, but with dual boot capabilities so
would greatly appreciate some help. Specifically:
1) I have one HD, C: I assume I need to make a partition to run XP as
well. Will the XP cd do this or do I need to do it using 98 fdisk?
2)Can I partition the drive with the 98 OS already on it?
TIA

You CANNOT partition the drive with the OS on it unless you buy Partition
Magic or similar.

The thing to do is to boot with a DOS boot floppy, run FDISK, make two
partitions, re-install SE on C:, when things are as you want run XP's setup
and install it on D: - this will give you a dual-boot confioguration.
Remember, SE is FAT32 so if you want to 'see' the XP installation from
within SE you must install XP in a FAT32 configuration. (An NTFS OS can see
FAT32 but not the reverse.)

How big is your present harddrive? XP could use up a lot of storage space if
you don't have a fairly large partition.

Thanks for the help. Greatly appreciated..

I am glad to have you as a 98SE user and a XP user as well -- just like me
<grin>

The following should work, I appoligise for the spelling:

Install windows XP with one partition, then use the 98Fdisk and create a new
partition, make that particion active and install windows 98. you qwill have
to activate each partion seperately every time you wish to jump between
operating system.
