dual boot & changing drive letters

I have a single 10GB drive, originally with two partitions and running
Win2000/NTFS. I used Partition Magic to shift more of the drive from
the D: partition to C: . I have now gone back and (using PM) created a
third partition (F: with FAT32; E: is the CDROM) on which I want to
install Win98SE.

I moved the partitions around so that the FAT32 is at the beginning of
the drive. Some of my old software wants to make temporary files on
the C: drive. What are the ramifications of changing the drive letters
for the two NTFS partitions to D: & F: and making the FAT32 partition
C:? Will programs (and the Win2000) still function if I make this
change. (This time, thought I'd better ask BEFORE making the change.)

Thanks in advance.

I see from a post just down from mine that Win2000 would not really
appreciate my changing its drive letter.

Since I won't be using the Win98 too often, how about if I just us
Partition Magic to switch drive letters, boot Win98 and do whatever I
need to. When I'm done with Win98, I switch the drive letters back and
Win2000 will never know I was following around behind its back.

What do you all think?\
