It seems that my modem is hanging when I resume my computer from standbye
mode, I am not able to send/receive Outlook email or go to web pages for a
short time after resuming from standbye mode.
Recenly I did a destructive restore of my computer because of this and some
other issues and for a couple weeks after the DR there was no problem with
it, I would be able to wake my computer from standbye mode and have instant
access to the internet. Now I have to wait until the modem is ready before
I attempt to do anything that requires the internet.
My modem is a Westell 6100 DSL modem and it is connected with and ehternet
cable so there is no setup required by me, as soon as I plug the ehternet
cable into the back of my pc Windows automatically detects the DSL signal
and configures the appropriate settings.
My operating system is Windows XP Home Edition SP II
Among the measures I have taken to resolve this:
Uninstalled and reinstalled the Network Adapter via the Device Manager
Physically uninstalled and reinstalled the hardware (modem)
Ran Anti-Virus Utilities and Spyweare Removal, ran all computer utilities,
i.e. Disk Cleanup, Disk Defragmenter, System File Checker etc
Unchecked the option to Allow Computer To Turn Modem Off to save power
option in it's power managemnent
Thanks
