dsl connection after reboot

When I start the computer each morning--it takes a good 3-4 minutes to get
connected to my DSL provider (Bell South). Either no connection, slow
connection
or freeze. Once I do get connected the first time-the connection is fine and
fast for the remainder of the day (even after hibernate). This occurs each
day after rebooting. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you have programs running in the background that are
automatically connecting to the internet upon bootup. You should
disable some of them if not needed. Simply remove them from the right
hand corner of your screen. It's safe to delete the icons.
